About: Fishers opened its doors to the Bristol public in January 2001, after having been established in Oxford since 1995. The interior of the restaurant is designed in a nautical theme; ventilator pipes, sails on the celings, ships lanterns – even the kitchen doors have portholes!
It is situated in the heart of Clifton Village, just around the corner from Avon Gorge and the world-famous Clifton Suspension Bridge.

At Fishers we enjoy keeping the dishes simple, and use only the freshest seasonal produce. Fishers is dedicated in providing fresh fish and shellfish in an informal and friendly atmosphere.

We decided to set up a small fish carriage company to enable us to buy direct from fisherman and markets up and down the country for our daily changing menu.

There are frequent phone calls to and fro discussing the weather conditions, catches and market availability, and even now there is still excitement opening the ice-packed delivery boxes to find either glistening black rope grown mussels from the Highlands of Scotland, wonderfully fresh turbot from Wales, or Cornish red mullet that have come in on day boats.
