About: OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

Abbeyfield UK's mission is: "To help an increasing number of older people enjoy a high quality of independent living provided through a range of services, including housing, support or care, with local community involvement".

KEY TO ABBEYFIELD UK'S WORK IS THE VIEW THAT:

• Older people have an important role to play amongst their families, friends and in their community

• Overcoming loneliness and insecurity can make all the difference to a person's wellbeing and quality of life

• Local people have an essential part to play in helping older people in their community.

Abbeyfield UK is a volunteer-led national housing association which was formed in October 2003. We are a Registered Social Landlord and a subsidiary of The Abbeyfield Society.

At the heart of Abbeyfield UK is the principle that we are accountable to our residents for the services we provide.

We are currently working with a number of national and local partners to develop our range of services to provide more housing, care and support for older people. Click here to see details of our new developments.

We are committed to providing the highest standards of housing, care and support for older people and have houses and care homes across England.

We currently cater for over 2000 people over the age of 55 who enjoy a high quality of independent living through a range of services all of which have local community involvement.

Abbeyfield UK provides quality housing with support and care for older people from all walks of life, regardless of income.

Abbeyfield UK strives to practice equal opportunities and is open to all regardless of race, gender, colour, sexuality, religious belief, class or ethnic origin. Applications from people with disabilities are welcome.

Abbeyfield UK is building on its achievements to further develop innovative, high quality care and support services for older people in care homes and supported sheltered housing across England.

Currently there are over 200 supported sheltered houses and 20 care homes, providing housing, support and care to over 2000 residents.
